- Macadamias are native to Australia (specifically Queensland) but thanks to early propagation in Hawaii, the USA now eats 51% of all the macadamias grown.
- Different first nations people groups had different names for macadamias, some of which were: “Boombera”, “Jindill”, “Baupal”, and “Kindal Kindal.”
- Macadamias were named after Scottish scientist, John MacAdam (Macadam).
