$45.00$52.50

This chocolate chip and walnut Kentucky favourite is eaten in association with the Kentucky Derby horse race. The Kentucky Derby is kind of like America’s Melbourne Cup… with pie (and bourbon!).

Description

Did you know:

The original inventors of this pie, Kern’s Kitchen in Louisville, Kentucky, has trademarked the name ‘Derby Pie’, so pie places have to find a different name for this creation. Some of the other names it is known by are: Pegasus Pie, Kentucky Pie and Chocolate Nut Pie. In fact, Kern’s recipe is so secret that only a few people know it; everyone else has to guess at the ingredients.

  • That, for an authentic experience, you should have some Kentucky bourbon with this pie, preferably in the form of a Mint Julep.
