Did you know?

  • Gulalung (Finger Lime) trees were traditionally found in the sub-tropical rainforests of Northern NSW and Queensland, part of the Bundjalung language nation[1].
  • The Key lime pie has been traced back to the early 20th century in the Key West, Florida area. Its exact origins are unknown, but the first formal mention of Key lime pie as a recipe may have been made by William Curry and Key West’s first millionaire; his cook, “Aunt Sally”, made the pie for him[2].
  • Key Lime Pie is the official pie of the state of Florida[3].
  • Different species of Wattleseed have different common names. Some Traditional Names include Ariepe (Arrernte NT), Ganabargu (Warlpiri NT), Ngatunpa (Pitjatjantjara NT), Pulkuru (Pintupi, NT) Waliputa Murchison WA)[4].
  • Wattleseed has been used by First Nations people for at least 4000 years[5].
